1. How can I remotely download data from the tachograph and driver’s card memory?

Digital files saved in the mass memory of the tachograph and on the driver’s card as well as the information about the current status of the tachograph (PIN D8) can be downloaded remotely and sent via the GSM module (GPRS) mounted in the telematics device that nowadays constitutes a standard in transport fleets. Downloading data from the tachograph and driver’s card is possible as long as the telematics device is equipped with the TMR module. Modern devices have a built-in TMR module and a few years ago many entrepreneurs decided to buy a TMR add-ons for telematic devices of older generation. Authentication necessary for data collection takes place through the company card which is usually simply inserted into a computer in the transport company’s office.

2. Does TACHO•API require a separate device to be installed in the vehicle?

No, as long as the vehicle has a telematic device with the ability to download data from the tachograph and driver’s card (TMR).

3. How often should I send data?

For the reliable operation of all modules and precision of data analysis we suggest our Partners that the current activities from the tachograph (so-called “frames” from the PIN D8), as input data, should supply the TACHO•API server at least every five minutes, and the digital DDD files from the tachograph and driver’s card at least once a week.

4. How to make alerts available to customers?

Data necessary to display the alert are returned by the TACHO•API service in the form of XML or JSON files. It is the Partner who decides about the method of data visualization for customers. The most common forms of data presentation are mobile and web applications as well as on-board devices.

5. How to share reports with customers?

As in the case of the alerts module, it is the Partner who listens to customer’s needs and decides about the form of reports sharing. The solution preferred by customers is the ability to download an appropriate report in PDF format as part of Partner’s application panel. TACHO•API service returns data from the server as PDF files.

6. How much does the integration with TACHO•API cost?

Integration based on the TACHO•API documentation is normally performed by Partner’s development team. It is also possible to order system integration made by Infolab’s programmers. Such a service is individually discussed with the Partner and is subject to a personalized commercial offer.

7. What is the business model of making TACHO•API available?

In the beginning of cooperation Infolab provides a free test environment to the Partner. Thanks to the demo version it is possible to evaluate the offered service. As a target, TACHO•API is made available to the Partner (Licensee) on the basis of a license agreement with Licensor’s (Infolab) hosting in the SaaS model (Software as a service).

8. Does TACHO•API operate on the basis of the effective legal provisions?

The Infolab team works closely with control authorities and continuously monitors all changes in legal regulations in the field of drivers’ working time. These changes are introduced to the software which ensures the compliance of TACHO•API with the applicable legal regulations.

9. Does Infolab provide technical support?

We are aware that our Partners, apart from the appropriate tools, also need professional technical support. Our technical support department is an expert team of trainers with many years of experience in the TSL industry which guarantees an excellent knowledge of the proposed solutions from the point of view of telematics companies and end users. We are happy to share our knowledge and experience, helping to solve current difficulties.

10. Does Infolab offer substantive support in business talks with customers and trainings regarding TACHO•API for my sales team?

Infolab provides its support during the first business meetings with customers in order to help to understand the advantages of using TACHO•API features. We also conduct trainings for Partner’s sales teams relating to the operation of the system and methods of presenting solutions to end customers.
